Dora Anderson
ECOTECTURE, Founder, Green Building Design Professional
Hi, I’m Dora Anderson, a green building design consultant and the founder of ECOTECTURE, a women owned and operated team of diverse eco-certified design professionals that are passionate about educating, advocating and mobilizing positive environmental built environment change in the Okanagan. We do so by utilizing a holistic design approach that encompasses people, place and planet. Our goal is to ensure that we design environments that foster health, wellness, resiliency, provide a deep connection to a sense of place and that every material and system specified is respectful to our planet and contributes to a circular economy. "In my past endeavors, I was the managing Partner of MQN Interiors from 2010-2014, bringing to the table over 20+ years of experience as an accredited Interior Design professional as a Registered Interior Designer with IDIBC. I achieved my BA in Interior Design at KPU after a Dip in Business at UFV. My Interior Design skills are complimented by my business education and even-keel management skills. Over the years, I've acquired experience in various facets of sustainable commercial and residential design projects across Canada and abroad. I'm a LEED® and WELL® accredited professional and I'm currently studying for Passive House certification which fuels my passion to bring an environmentally sustainable focus to all projects. I thrive on developing buildings that improve the way we work, play and connect with our community and planet. On the home front, becoming a parent of a vibrant 12yr old, has given me perspective and heightened my passion for instilling a sustainable future for our children. I value relationships above all and treat our team and clients like family and ensure that a healthy work-life balance is maintained by everyone."
